My apologies if you do not receive an individual thank-you for favouriting my work. The favourite is more appreciated than you may imagine, seriously. I have stopped because without sounding too egotistical I get far too many of them these days and responding individually used to take forever. I do like to reply to questions in comments though, so go ahead with those.

** Using my Work

You may use it for personal use, for example a wallpaper, without my permission, but if you want it for anything else, especially commercial use, please show courtesy and ask me. Do not redistribute without my permission. That includes you, Tumblrs, who have practically mirrored my entire gallery. Enough already!

With the legal unpleasantries out of the way, allow me to introduce myself. My name is James Plant, and I am a 18-year-old amateur CGI artist from jolly old England. I've been using 3D software for many years, and I have reasonable experience with Blender, my 'weapon of choice'. My artwork is made using exclusively open-source software - because of financial restrictions as much as anything else - which as of this moment consists of Ubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot", Blender 2.6, Yafaray, and the GIMP. I do my artwork as a hobby, and I am open to suggestions and, depending on the content and whether I have the time, commissions too.

A little update

I've been in radio silence for a little while. That said, I have a little project in the works. Something I've been spending a little more time and a lot more care with than usual. Something that, if I complete it, would be an attempt at a serious, photorealistic scene and a fair departure from my usual fare. I have no idea if this will reach completion. Even so, I'll just leave this here - http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/103/beta8.png EDIT: New, much progressed snapshot EDIT: And another

My last journal post was entitled "I'm Back, Baby". That was probably a bit of an exaggeration. As some of you may know, I'm currently studying Biology at a university in the north of England. The workload can be pretty substantial at times and it's been very difficult to find the time or energy to curl up with Blender for a good session. That's not to say I don't love doing what I do with Blender. In fact, once I have completed my uni work over my pending three-week break, I'm going to damn well make time - for now and in the future - to keep this page revving over. That is to say, my presence on deviantArt hasn't ended, and isn't going t
